      The death took place at 26 West Regulas Road, Edinburgh, of Mr Alexander T. Dalgleish, who had a long association with the business life of Galashiels, having for considerably over thirty years been agent for the Commercial Bank of Scotland. Mr Dalgleish served his apprenticeship in his native town, Stirling, and held an appointment in a Glasgow branch before being appointed agent at Galashiels in 1890. He retired from the service of the bank in 1920, after having been in the service for over fifty years. After his retirement, Mr Dalgleish lived for a number of years in Galashiels, and only removed to Edinburgh about a year ago. Mr Dalgleish took a keen interest in various forms of sport, and in his young days played regularly for Stirling County Cricket Club. He was also an enthusiastic bowler and one of the oldest members of Gala Bowling Club, of which he was a former president. He was a loyal supporter of Gala Cricket Club, of which he was for a long period a vice-president and a regular attender at the club matches. He was predeceased by his wife a number of years ago, and is survived by one daughter.
