Portrait by Walter William Ouless (1848-1933), University of Dundee, Tayside Medical History Museum Art Collection.
A committee of leading citizens in Dundee commissioned Ouless to paint Dalgleish’s portrait to be presented to the city, and this replica was commissioned by the board of directors at Dundee Royal Infirmary to hang in their board room.

William Dalgleish, policeman, Exeter
William Dalgleish served as a police constable in Exeter. Woolmer's Exeter and Plymouth Gazette dated 16 October 1847 contains a report of a hearing into William Dalgleish being charged with being drunk. There are other reports of his work as a policeman and areests that he made.
